The government has announced a sweeping infrastructure development plan that will see roads, bridges, hospitals and public utilities upgraded across the country over the next five years.

Speaking to a packed parliament, the Finance Minister outlined plans to allocate funds across five key sectors — transport, healthcare, education, energy and water.

"This is not just a budget. This is a statement of intent. We are investing in the future of every citizen, in every corner of this country." — Finance Minister

The plan has been broadly welcomed by business leaders and civil society organisations, though opposition lawmakers have raised questions about financing and oversight.
